Sometimes when a dog gets too sick many owners agree to have them put to sleep. What do you think about this? Are you pro or against dog euthanasia?

I am for it in special cases not just because not want dog..If dogs life is not going great and in pain best to let them go.

i grew up on a farm and while i belive you should do everything you can within reason there can come a point when trying only causes more harm. when that point comes its time to put them down. my last two dogs died natrually of old age. one just put his head on my lap then keeled over.

on teh farm one of our cats was hit by a car. the dammage was very bad and the vet closed and 45 min away. one look told me it was time to get the gun. i did what needed to be done but think having the vet do it if at all possible is the best way to go.

i dont agree with putting them down simply becuase you do not want them. you made a commitment you should stick to it or find a loving home.

im very very sorry to hear that it is never an easy thing to do. Kudos to you for loving your golden enough to know when its time.

Oh my, I just don't want to know how hard it's for you. I respect all the people who have the strenght to think about the doggie's interest ... I think I would have a huge problem making this step, even if I know that as his owner I should be able to look after his life and be ready to end it when it's becoming a torture for him. I hope I will be strong enough to so this though.

This is why I said I admire you so much for having the heart to think about her and not only your feelings. We have an example of a very old dog in the block. She's been living with us many years. My neighbour had her for 14 or 17 years (don't know for sure). She's now so old she can barely walk. They also fear they'll have to do this since it getting harder for her to live like this
