I think it's a good idea to start talking about the projects we try in here by discussing about the dog that started it all, even years before I knew this site will be born or that I'll become so involved in the problems with have with the stray dogs in Romania, or to be more exact, the problems our stray dogs face in this cruel society.

It started in 1999. It was July if I recall well. A sunny day. My grandmother came home with a doggie following her. He was very small and skinny. Tall, but so skinny. All my childhood I loved the dogs, but never could keep one in my home. I am living in a second floor apartment, not a "proper" place to breed dogs.

We gave him something to eat (as we did in other cases) and instead of letting him free again something kinda made us keep him some more hours.

The second day he was sick (he had internal and external parasites) and we though a visit to the vet is a good idea. Even if the doggie "blessed" all the carpets in the house (wasn't potty trained yet) we liked him a lot. After the expensive visit to the doctor we were able to make him eat and he started feeling well. We also trained him to do the "business" outside so it was easier to keep him.

He was 2 months old (that's what the doctor said) and so .. alive. We fell in love with him and he's been with us for 8 years now. I cannot imagine life without him anymore. I also learnt a lot of things related to dog breeding and was able to enjoy my life side by side with a nice and loving dog.

Till now this was my "major project". There are thousands of stray dogs in my country, but I was able to save at least 1.

After years I started this project and now I am ready to take it to the next level. Juni is not the only doggie I have in my "list". He is the first indeed and the "image" of our online project.

RE: Junior

well i did the same with my dog...

Two years ago a friend of mine came to me and asked me if i want a puppy. I said i do, but i can't take it home because my dad wouldn't let me. But i went to see it. The moment i saw the cute puppy in her arms i knew i couldn't leave it on the streets so i took it with me to school and then home. Of course my dad said NO the moment he saw me with the puppy in my arms but i tricked him Very Happy. I told him we will kepp it till we can find a owner for it. But i never searched for one.

Now Puky (that is the dog's name) is a member of the family!

I also "saved" 2 more dogs. One i found in the park near my house and gave it to a boy who named him Snoopy. The second i bought from a drunk man who selled the dog so he could buy cheap vodka. I named him Dummy cause he was very clumsy (and he still is... Smile). I gave this dog to my bf's aunt. And right now i'm struggling to find a owner for the dog Ramona and my sister found... i hope we'll find one.

I hope i can save much more puppies like this. I want what's best for all stray dogs out there Very Happy
