How did you choose the name for your dog?

One of the daycare ladies, from Mike's school, used to have a dog that looked alot like our's and his name was Mauser. So, Mike, when he was 6, decided to call his new puppy Mauser. My husband, Steve, said that there is a German rifle called a Mauser.

When we name our bloodhounds, it takes alot of thought. There usually have a meaning behind each of their names.

When we are naming rescue animals, we keep trying different names until it seems to fit and they answer to it.

I named Junior like this because he's the smallest member in the family

My dogs seem to pick their own names. It's always something that suits their personality and not a name I've picked beforehand.
