Search and Rescue

Anyone out there involved in Search and Rescue of any kind, Human or animals?

I know I am involved in both aspects. With the hopes of someday starting our own boarding/no kill shelter..

Plus we have KR KENNELS SEARCH and RESCUE we trying to get all set up as a non profit SAR organization.

The only thing I was able to do so far was to get a dog from the streets in my apartment and raise it and also take care of a dog in the block yard. I also bought food and fed it myself to some doggies I would find on the street.

Because my possibilities are so limited (I am not having the money to pursue these activities on a larger scale) I have created this project to raise awareness and maybe some funds to the dogs too.

Doing a little as you did is a very big help..Do not ever think did not do enough, you helped you are trying to get more to think same way which is a MONSTER help..So many out there that do not care or do not know what they can do. Just spreading the word getting more to help in anyway they can is everyones goal.
Maybe we can have a post on ways to raise funds for animals everywhere..
They do it for people ,Charity walks and such or donation jars, one we work with was recycling old cell phones will get that link for you..

I've always wanted to do Search and Rescue but never had the right dog for it. I have a super smart, high drive BC now that I think would be wonderful at it. Unfortunetly there's not many places here to train for it. It's on my list of things I'd love to do though.

In terms of animals rescue, I've fostered a couple dozen puppies and dogs over the years that came from high kill shelters. If I have room I'll take one at a time. Would like to have my own rescue group, but at this point I'm just too darn busy to be able to devote the right amount of time to it.

My sister-in-law, Fran, used to take in dogs from a rescue center and try to find homes for them. She recently passed away and at her visitation, friends and family, could make donations to the Humane Society. She really loved dogs and cats and used to raise Persian cats.
