What words does your dog understand?
Some doggies know 2-3 words, others are almost a walking glossary. What words does your dog understand?

Sox seems pretty intelligent when she wants to be, she knows the normal ones like sit, down, here, stay etc.
She also knows later, food, bedtime, outside, cheese, sausage, biscuit, who is it? plus seems to recognise people's names and lots of other things.

Unsure of what they really know but say work dogs run to door and wait for halters as know going for a ride...for tracking we just use FIND! and yes the sit, down, treats not that they always listen...

He knows his name Braxton.
He knows his nickname Wax.
He also knows stay, sit, down, no, bad dog (he gets upset when we say that) and good dog.
My name is Tanya!

My dog is cross trained in narcotics detection and trailing. He knows, "find the dope" and "Find!". He knows also, "where's your ball". He knows "No" but is selective on if he wants to react.
Dreamhunter, my last work dog was a bloodhound that was trained for trailing. I am definately not a hound person, I learned but she was good at what she did. She currently is being handled by another agency by a handler that was her original trainer.

I like them but all work differently..Female loose leads while the boys are pullers.. The boys are still learaning though and female loose leads better with wife. Good that the hound is still working and you got one that works for you also. I know sheperd they have here is great for Meth and such but trailing he gets a deer scent and stuff he gets anxious and gets off track.

Noddy understands perfect English, he just chooses when he wants to take any notice or not.
I can make him relieve himself on command by asking him to "curl one down". If he can understand that phrase so easily it baffles me how he doesn't understand "heel" 9 times out of 10.
