Medication

What does your dog like to eat with his/her medication?

Mauser loves peanut butter. So, we give him a small piece of bread with peanut butter and hide his pill inside. Sometimes we'll give him a litte cheese with his medicine if we don't have any peanut butter.

Hmm .. Juni hates medication, so we need to hide it very well in a delicius ham piece. if smells anything unusual he won't take it

Oh .. he's a tyrant. He's the same "person" I am, but in the dog world. He's a follower of the hedonistic ideas, never does something he dislikes, the food needs to be yammy and quality, otherwise he won't eat. He knows a lot of words and things and sometimes it's hard to "fool" him.

We all think they're animals and stupid, but there are times they outsmart us in a very "unpleasant" way for our self esteem Very Happy

As an example:

Juni was cold or sick once. We had to give him oral medication. Well .. He kinda got used to this in 2-3 days (took the medication for a week or so) and he wouldn't take food from us that easy.

So, one day my neighbour comes. She's a 50 year old woman who comes often and Juni adores her. She didn't like dogs before, but it looks like my pooch really made her change her mind and feelings. Long story short: she comes and she gives Juni the ham piece with the pill inside. It looks like we didn't "hide" it that well, so the dog kinda sensed the bitter pill. He did swallow it.

But he didn't forget.

Next day she came back to us and Juni came to be caressed. When she bowed to reach him he jumped on her face and grabbed her nose. You can imagine that she was wet in the pants the same moment Very Happy

He didn't bite. No scratch, no mark, NOTHING. She said she didn't feel ANY pain just the fact she was eye-to-eye with the dog and he was having her entire nose in his mouth Twisted Evil

He didn't show ANY sign of agression to her not before and not after and she's the one to claim that he DIDN'T bite at all. He just wanted to get some things straight and show her he's not dumb.

Weird enough .. she's delighted to have gone through this and she would brag about how smart and revengeful my doggies is. They're still best pals, but I doubt I can convince her to give him any pills anyway soon Very Happy
