Tail Docking

I see no reason to ban tail docking, I have seen video showing what seems to be a painless process and it clearly has no detrimental effect in later life.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

If done early enough and not done just because want a breed of dog to be different I am ok with it and has to be done by a vetrinarian.

I am against tail docking,I don't see any reason why it has to be done at all,I don't understand what makes owners do it ,I enjoy seeing a happy dog wagging it's tail, not a little stump.Dog's were born with a tail ,so what's gives us humans the right to remove that tail ?No right at all, okay one of my dog's was docked by her previous owners ,as far as I'm concerned they didn't deaserve to have a dog as they dumped her.
I'm glad that it has been made to be illegal to dock in australia ,it should be the same world wide.I wonder how humans would feel if they had a bit cut off them when born.
This is my view on the situation only. Sad Sad

You'd have to ask a Jew rompy. Wink

There are some rather valid arguments for reasons to dock tails, mostly based on preventing tail injuries, but to be perfectly frank I don't need to hear them. For all I care it could be totally cosmetic, the only issue I have is whether or not it is cruel. And I have seen no evidence to suggest it is.

Some food for thought, the selective breeding of dog's has altered the "natural canine" in many ways. Some for aesthetic reasons, some practical. Many of them could be construed as cruel. I don't see any difference in selective breeding and surgical alteration with regards the end result.
