What type of work do you do for a living?

I'm an accountant 1 for the Boeing Company in Earth City, MO.

I'm a web designer and work for myself, well it's a partnership between me and a web developer.

don't watch a lot of sci-fi movies but do like Star Trek and Stargate and started recently collecting Doctor Who DVDs

Well, just keep on trying. I know your job is not that nice, but it does bring food on the table and you'll be able to fund some of your future ventures from it. Starting web design is a good idea, you could earn some nice money, but so far the job you have can help you with paying the bills
